Born in Korea and raised in northern Virginia, Soo-Jin Lee is a playwright-screenwriter. PEACHES, a post-college romance and winner of the New Works for Young Women Prize, was produced at the Edward Albee's New Playwrights Festival, curated by Lanford Wilson. TIGERS, DRAGONS, & OTHER WISE TAILS!, a children's play commissioned by the Smithsonian Institution, received its world premiere at the Discovery Theatre in Washington, D.C. WHY KOREANS DON'T HUG, a family drama, received a workshop production at the University of Texas at Austin. Two shorts after the style of Dogme 95 were produced in Austin, TX. In 2008, she got her MFA in Theater from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a company member of Mutineer Theatre. She lives in Los Angeles. |
